Whether it be to get away & discover a new way to relax, refine your technique, or search for a new adrenalin rush, this 2 day Sea Kayaking program will offer a day of Instruction as per our Sea Skills Session One Course, ( tailored to women specific issues ), followed the next day by a Paddling Trip to explore Jervis Bay ( Location - chosen based on prevailing weather conditions to ensure the highest standard of safety and care ). This program is a complete package that will ensure your kayaking lifestyle takes off in the right direction.

DAY ONE OUTLINE :

Why Women Make Great Kayakers :
The finer points · Basic Sea Skills Session One Course Content
Equipment

ORIENTATION :

How to carry your kayak correctly, How to Load your Kayak on your Vehicle, Women Specific Equipment, Gear & Clothing, Common Concerns, How to pack your sea kayak for trips/camping.

Paddling Technique. ( Dry Run )
Minimum Stress Paddling
Forward Stroke
Reverse Paddling
Stopping
Sweep Strokes ( Forward & Reverse )
Draw Strokes
Low Support or Low Brace
Sculling for support. Pawlatta and normal.

Note : Above exercise to be completed on Dry Land prior to Confined Water Training.

Capsize Drill - The WET EXIT (In water shallow enough to stand in. To be completed toward end of training session).
Self Rescue Options

 Paddle Float Rescue – Practice.
 Assisted Rescues - Practice
 Cowboy / Straddle Re-entry.
 Sling / Paddle Float Combination.
 Eskimo Roll + Re Enter Roll ( Demonstration Only ).

DAY TWO

½ Day Paddling Trip : BAY EXPERIENCE GUIDED KAYAKING TRIP

Now that you have successfully completed your Sea Skills Basic Course lets go and explore Jervis Bay with two relaxed paddling sessions of approximately 1.5 hours, total trip time is approx 5.5hrs. A well deserved mid morning break of about an hour ensures you are able to revitalize your mind and energy. You will be able to practice your new skills as well as relax & enjoy the company of your fellow paddlers and take in the beautiful waterway surrounds.
Duration :  7.45am till 1.15pm approx.
